I'm not exactly sure how to feel about this book. Should I be writing this review right now? Probably not but I run a book blog so I feel that I should.
So basically there's Sutter. He likes alcohol way too much. Now he's not an alcoholic. His girlfriend Cassidy dumps him. Later he meets Aimee and decides, "hey I could be friends with this girl." The story then revolves around him, Aimee, and his careless decisions.
There were things I didn't like about this book.
1. I did not like that he was drunk/drinking throughout 95% of the story.
2. I didn't like the way he talked/described girls. It seemed very disrespectful.
3. The ending
There were many aspects of it I enjoyed though such as the fact that he was very open about his opinions on things.
He had a very deep heart and could listen to just about anyone
about anything. I don't feel that he was very serious about his decisions.
Throughout the entire book he said he was going to do certain things and do the opposite.
I didn't like that he could justify being all over his ex. If she wanted to stay all over him she shouldn't have dumped him.
Throughout the whole story as more and more came out about him I understood why he enjoyed drinking and acted the way he did. Did it justify things he did? No but I understood him more. I understood his random acts of kindness and random acts of straight up asshole.
I did find that as a character he developed well but it kind of came crumbling down at the end. I feel like he had this urge to make good decisions on his own but didn't have what it took to make them. When he started to stop letting people make his decisions I had real hope for him but it all came crumbling down and he was back where he started.
Like I said earlier I was totally prepared to give this book a full 4 stars but sadly it fell flat and I'm going to give it 3.
