Thanksgiving 2015

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! I hope ya'll have a wonderful dinner or lunch with family and friends! I hope your meals were amazing! I hope your sweet tea had just the right amount of diabetes! If you didn't have sweet tea, I hope your drink was delicious!

Great News!!!

So this is not one of my normal posts on here but I have amazing news. As some of you know I've been volunteering at my local library to get working experience and community service hours. I love working there. Sometimes it can get a little irritating but I love it. I knew that I needed to atempt to move up now that I've got this experience under my belt. I put in an application at one of my favorite book stores. I've been through an interview and I'm happy to say that I am officially a working woman now! I've worried so much about this.

With this being said I am trying to decide how I'm going to find the time for my blog and my youtube channel. I've made out a schedule so that I can schedule when my posts go up. I've already slacked on this but I am still adjusting.

The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall | Review

I picked this up because I love a good ghost story and October is the perfect month to read one in.

This particular book was not a ghost story I've ever read, it has a nice spin to it.

Was it scary? No. The cover had me prepared for it to be more scary than it was, the cover is misleading, in my opinion.

Characters. The main character and the ghosts she comes in contact with are who we get to interact with the most. Delia, the main character, is willed the home of her great aunt. Her family drives down to the house to stay for the summer. In the beginning of the book we mostly interact with Delia and her family. Throughout the rest of the story we don't get a lot of information on her family members besides her sister and aunt Cordelia, who left her the house.

Plot. Delia's aunt wills a house to her. Delia has to find out about the weird occurrences and her family history.

I gave this 3/5 stars. ***

The Ghost of Crutchfield Hall | Review

Growing up in a family full of people who believed in ghosts I was bound to end up having a slight obsession. A book, movie, or show automatically has me intrigued if there is a ghost involved.

When I was a kid I discovered Mary Downing Hahn's books. Ever since then they've been a guilty pleasure. When I started to get older, of course, I moved up to bigger and better things but I still have a love for Hahn's books.

With that being said I discovered this one day at Barnes and Noble.

This particular one wasn't as good as others I've read but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I gave this 3/5 stars. ***

I felt like the story could fall a little flat sometimes but I still had that overwhelming anger for certain characters.

Florence wasn't as fleshed out as the rest of the characters even though she was the main protagonist.

The uncle didn't show up as much as I would've like but he was still one of my favorite characters from the story. 

The climax of the story wasn't as climatic as some of Hahn's other books I've read but the problem was settled so I was happy with it. The ending could've been left open to continue which I liked. 

Overall this was a decent book but if you're new to Mary Downing Hahn I don't suggest this as your first read,
