Twisted Chapter 13

*Aiden’s POV*
Jace and I are going fishing, he’s supposed to tell me the whole story on him and Keylee. Later I’m swimming with Paisley, although I wish it was just us it won’t be. I found out that natural blonde’s hair turn green in chlorine too. Really funny to see Paisley with green hair. It was worse last time because she put lemon juice in it and made her hair more blonde. I laughed at the thought and almost slipped. I let the sink overflow! Turning the water off I went to get the mop, I might as well mop I already have soap on the floor. This is why Jacob does the dishes.

While I was finishing up mopping the floor the phone rang, going to answer it and discovering I couldn’t find it. Of course, I can’t ever find the phone. It finished ringing as I turned the volume on my radio down. My mom was calling, I heard her when the machine picked up.
“Aiden or Jacob, call me back when you get a chance.”
Still not finding the phone, I pulled out my phone and called the house 3 times till I found it, under the couch cushions. Of all place the couch cushions really?!
...
Dancing to her way to her dresser and opening the drawer Paisley turned around and said, "which one should I wear?"
Everytime. I never know what to say to her, like oh wear the purple string bikini, oh hey I like that one piece.
"Can I have a choice?" I asked her, it was at least halfway easier that way, right?
She made a face and said, "I'll just choose one myself, my lord you're difficult."
"I try really hard at it to." I walked up behind her and picked up a lime green top, "you know neon will really bring out those green highlights."
Turning around she had her mouth open, "yeah and not having trunks because you can't find them is fun to."
"You wouldn't."
She held them up and ran. I stopped to listen to her foot steps, she was on her way down the stairs. Oh my smokes she's hiding them in the bushes again. Last time I had tiny sticks in places sticks should never be. Running down the alike hardwood stairs to find her sitting on the kitchen counter eating an apple. The girl took my trunks and is just sitting there eating an apple. She'd make a good hit man. She looked up and smiled, "you look a little lost." Take that back she'd reveal she had something to do with it.
"Well you see," I walked closer, "I'm not the lost one, my dear friend seems to have run away with a blonde and I can't find him."
Still smiling she said, " I think I saw them go that way," she pointed to the dining room. Walking closer to her, "oh really because I seem to have thought they like it," I tickled her knowing she'd crack, "here."
Dying in a fit of laughter and kicking me in my elbow, she managed to hop off the counter, walking over to the oven she led me to my trunks. The oven, how clever.

...
"Paisley I can't tie it if you won't come out of the bathroom." Paisley can't tie things herself because if she does, well, it comes untied. There's four bathrooms in her house. One in her room, one in her dad's room, a half bath in the downstairs hallway and another half bath in the game room. The game room is where everyone hangs out when it gets cold outside, her piano is in there. She doesn't touch it much anymore, I guess her inspiration for that faded like my inspiration for drawing.
"Aiden, I still haven't figured out which one I want to wear."
"Lime green with the black bottoms. How 'bout that one?"
"Thanks," she gushed, "I didn't think I'd figure it out."
Still talking through the door and waiting on her, "come on girl we gotta get a swim in before everyone gets here."
"Alright alright I'm comin' I'm comin'."
Opening the door with one hand as she held her untied top on with the other she stopped to stand with her back to me.
"Aiden how'd your fishing trip with Jace go earlier?"
"It got canceled."
"Why."
"Later."

*Paisley POV*
I knew when Aiden said later it either meant I wouldn’t ever hear what it was until like a month later or it was serious and he didn’t want to ruin the fun. I knew not to push it because if I did he would sulk. I didn’t want that, again. He’s hard headed like me and doesn’t like to break the silence first either.

Swimming around in pool while Aiden decided to be lazy and float. I was going to flip him but not right away. I made a couple circles around the pool, stopped to talk to him and swam under his float. I came up on the other side of him, he had his eyes closed, I silently got close to him and flipped him.
“He-!”
I burst into laughter and he came up out of the water, “that was just rude.”
Smiling, “what are you gonna do about it?” I swam away as he chased me. We only stopped when Shain walked in my back gate. Standing beside me Aiden said, “what is he doing here,” through clenched teeth.
“I talked to him while he wasn’t high on pills. He apologized in person. Aiden he’s like a lost puppy he has no where to go.” I looked right into his blue eyes as I said the last sentence.
“Paisley you don’t have to be his safe haven everytime he screws up.”
“I’d rather it be me than someone else.  How would you feel if you were in his shoes?”
“I don’t plan on being there.”
“But you were once weren’t you? Don’t act like it didn’t happen.”
He stared off into the yard like he had nothing left to say. I got out of the pool and wrapped a towel around me as Shain was sitting on the bench in the exact spot he occupied a week ago. “Hey stranger,” I greeted him as I poured myself a glass of sweet tea, “want one?”
“Nah I’m just here to hang out, Milk still comin’?” He squinted when he asked as if he were looking directly into the sun.
“No he uh he is hangin’ with his new girlfriend.” Shain acted like he was going to fall off the bench in surprise. “A girlfriend?”
“Yeah I’ve never met her, I’ve seen her but I haven’t talked to her. Her name is Sarah by the way.”
“I know a Sarah.”
I tilted my head, “yeah you know a Jennifer too so.”
“I thought we agreed we wouldn’t mention her.”
“Mention who,” Aiden asked as he walked up pouring himself a glass of sweet tea. By this rate we will have to make about six more gallons before the night is over. I know we’ll be here until like three in the morning so I’m not really worried about anything.
“Jennifer,” I answered him because it seemed Shain wasn’t going to.
“Hey Aiden have you talked to Jace?” He had the glass at his mouth, taking a sip before answering, “yeah this afternoon.”
“Is he still coming?”
“Yes, what about him and Keylee though?”
“I believe Keylee said they were on speaking terms when I talked her earlier.” Just as I finished my sentence Keylee walked out my backdoor. Looking up as I spoke, “well speak of the devil.”
She smiled as she said, “nothing to bad I hope, why aren’t ya’ll in the pool? Don’t ya’ll know I wore my swimsuit for a reason.”
“I just got out come on I’ll get back in, Shain are you gonna swim?” Standing up from the picnic table bench he slid his shirt off, “Of course I am,” he kicked his shoes off.
*Aiden’s POV*
Paisley and I decided to leave the crowd to get the food ready and another two pitchers of sweet tea. Sausage pinwheels, chicken tenders which we didn’t cook, pizza rolls because I guess we are too lazy for real pizza, and those sandwiches you buy pre sliced. We will eventually have real food but for now we have that with sweet tea and lemonade to drink. Someone is liable to decide they want some tacos later or something.
“Aiden can you hand the pinwheels so I can put them in the oven.”
I opened the fridge and handed them to her, “do you want the lemonade mix while I’m at it?”
“Yeah I’ll finish that container off before I open this one.” She danced her way over to me and opened the pantry door beside the fridge.
“Hey Aiden should we play some Pandora or an actual radio.” I pulled my phone out and opened a playlist and played The A Team by Ed Sheeran, “how ‘bout we just play this.”
“How about we do.”
*Keylee POV*
Walking in the back door leading to Paisley’s kitchen, “Paisley I ha-”, her and Aiden were slow dancing in the kitchen listening to Stay by Rihanna. I cleared my throat and they  separated instantly, “Sorry to interrupt but um Paisley I have a problem.”
“Yeah what is it,” her eyes were searching me.
“I um Jace stole my swimsuit top.”
“Are you saying you have nothing on under your shirt?”
“Yes and thanks for pointing that out in front of ding dong.”
She looked up at Aiden, “oh sorry.”
“So can I borrow one please?” I asked.
*Paisley’s POV*
“Keylee,” I spoke as I dug through the drawer, “how did Jace steal your top.”
“Well just because we aren’t together anymore doesn’t mean we can’t still be friends and have fun.”
I turned around, “If you can still be friends like that then either ya'll are still in love or there were never any feelings there.”
She turned away blushing to stare at my bedroom window.
“Which one,” I held up two different ones that I knew would fit her. Her boobs are bigger than mine, “blue or purple.”
“I’ll take the purple one, thanks.”

“Don’t let Jace take that one,” I smiled.
